"About iMac SMC Firmware Update 1.1 (921KB)
This update is recommended for iMac (late 2013) with flash-only storage. This update improves the Power Nap feature in Mavericks on your flash based iMac by allowing it to perform silently, without spinning up the fan.
Power Nap periodically updates apps, such as Mail, Contacts, and Calendar, and will download software updates while your iMac is sleeping."
BTW: There is (was) a thread from users upset over Cloud-only syncing, as they were not aware of that before upgrading. (FYI: As of 10AM Oct 24th thread link fails. Deleted?) Here's a clip on that change in Mavericks from the apple doc About SyncServices:
"OS X Mavericks v10.9 and later do not use SyncServices. Instead, Mavericks supports sharing your information using several network-based and cloud-based solutions. If you want to sync your information across multiple devices and computers, you should use one or more of these methods. These include iCloud, CardDAV servers, CalDAV servers, and servers that utilize the Exchange ActiveSync protocol.
