Java 7 Update 45 for OS X Lion/Mountain Lion:
(Update: Oracle released Java 7 Update 60 on May 28, 2014.)
(I don't use java but posting as a FYI to those that do need/use it.) After seeing the Java 6 updates today (below), I checked for Java 7 updates - Oracle's Java 7 dev page (and Java.com) has Java 7 Update 45 (for OS X 10.7.3 or later). Here's the release notes (51 security fixes) and Oracle's Java for Mac FAQ. If you have already installed Java 7 (update 40 was previous version), you can update via System Preferences ->Java Control panel. Java updates typically have important security patches but can break some software, so you may want to check with the dev/vendor of any java based software you depend on before updating and check for feedback. (Apple's OS X forums and/or forums for any java software you use. Oracle also has Java Developer forums. And of course always have a Backup.)
"About Java for OS X 2013-005 (63.98 MB)
(FYI: On May 29th, 2014 Apple renamed this "Java for OS X 2014-001" with installer 'improvements', I assume related to installing in later OS X versions since the original Oct. 2013 release.)
Java for OS X 2013-005 delivers improved security, reliability, and compatibility by updating Java SE 6 to 1.6.0_65.
On systems that have not already installed Java for OS X 2012-006, this update disables the Java SE 6 applet plug-in. To use applets on a web page, click on the region labeled "Missing plug-in" to download the latest version of the Java applet plug-in from Oracle.
Please quit any Java applications before installing this update.
