An iMac owner also running a 27in Cinema Display asked if there was a quick/easy way to adjust brightness on the external Cinema display. The Apple keyboard brightness button works on the main display, but try it with the Control key pressed to adjust the secondary display. (I don't have a 2nd display to test this but IIRC it was the Control key instead of Option.)
