Apple's Bash Security Updates for OS X Lion/Mountain Lion/Mavericks
("fixes a security flaw in the bash UNIX shell" aka "Shellshock")
After applying "Bash 1.0 update" in OS X 10.9.5, "bash --version" shows 3.2.53(1).
CVE-2014-6271, CVE-2014-7169 list Bash versions through 4.3 as vulnerable. (IIRC latest GNU Bash release was 4.3.27 as of the weekend but that may have changed.)
Later found Apple's article on this update , which says CVE-2014-7169 and CVE-2014-6271 are incorporated. (I don't know the status of CVE-2014-6277 , -6278, -7186, -7187 but the "foo" echo test mentioned in a PCW article on Bash-4.3 patch 27 doesn't show vulnerable after the apple update, although the response is 'syntax error' instead of "command not found" they list.)
FYI: The update does not require a reboot but some have reported they had problems (printing, mail, etc) after the update until they restarted the Mac.
