Even though I don't use 3rd party addons, I install macOS updates from a Safe Mode boot.)

M1 Mac mini updated to macOS 11.7 (from 11.6.8) using Safe Mode.
Software Update listed 11.7 update as 2.57 GB, & Safari 16.0 as 129.7 MB,
but the actual combined download was shown as 3.46 GB.
(No change in M1 mini firmware version - still 7459.141.1 from macOS 11.6.8 update.)

This update is recommended for all iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro users
and provides important bug fixes including the following:

- iMessage and FaceTime may not complete activation.

- Photos may appear soft when zooming in landscape orientation on iPhone 14 Pro Max.

- Enterprise single sign-on apps may fail to authenticate.
