"About Leopard Flashback Removal Security Update (1.23MB)
This update removes the most common variants of the Flashback malware. If the Flashback malware is found, a dialog will notify you that malware was removed. In some cases, the update may need to restart your computer in order to completely remove the Flashback malware.

To improve the security of your Mac, this update also disables the Java plug-in in Safari. For instructions on how to re-enable it, please visit:

For information on the security content of this update, please visit this website:

System Requirements: OS X v10.5.8"
(Doc on Security content lists avail for 10.5 to 10.5.8*)

Here's the specific doc About the security content of Flashback Removal Security Update.

(*FYI: Although neither download page (as of post time) mentioned it, like the Leopard Security Update 2012-003, this one may also be for Intel-based macs only.
Apple's HT1222 doc (listing of Apple security update articles) has "(Intel)" at the end of the 'released for' info for both articles on these updates. (Although the actual article on the removal tool doesn't list "Intel" like the Security Update 2012-003 doc does.)
I don't have a PPC mac running 10.5.x to try, but some posts in Apple's forums say neither of these updates appeared in SU on 10.5.x PPC Macs, nor would the downloaded updater run on them.)

A reader later wrote to confirm these updates are not for PPC macs:

"I can confirm that neither the Leopard Security Update 2012-003 nor the Leopard Flashback Removal Security Update is showing in Software Updates on 10.5.8 on an iBook G4. These updates are for Intel only.
Best regards, Thomas"
Thanks Thomas
