Reader Report: Radeon R9 280X in 2008/2012 Mac Pros (macOS 10.12.6)
'Jman' sent notes and benchmarks from a (flashed) Radeon R9 280X in his Mac Pro 5,1 (dual 3.46GHz) running macOS 10.12.6, using an LG 32UD59-B 4K 32in display. Radeon R9 280X also used in his 2008 Mac Pro 3,1. (Said he's ordered a Radeon RX 580 8GB for the Mac Pro 5,1 now.)

Jan. 10, 2018 dated Nvidia web driver download page of Quadro & GeForce macOS Driver Release 378.10.10.10.25.104 for macOS 10.13.2 build 17C205. The build after installing 10.13.2 Supplemental Update. (If you can't select the page's 'Accept' terms/conditions button, here's a direct D/L link.)
As with previous High Sierra web drivers, the download page has this note on installing:
"Installation Note:
Because of improvements in macOS security, the Security & Privacy Preferences may open during the installation process. If it does, click "Allow" in order for the NVIDIA Graphics Driver to load, then return to the Installer and click "Restart"."
(As of post time, CUDA 387.99 release from Dec. 8th still latest on web.)
