Odd post about OS X 10.9.3 and Audio CDs in USB Superdrive:
I saw an apple forum post from a Mac Pro owner that said after updating to OS X 10.9.3, his Apple USB Superdrive no longer recognized Audio CDs and that it was later confirmed during an Apple store Genius visit. (I realize that Mac Pros are noted as not compatible in Apple's USB Superdrive compatibility listing, however apparently it was working OK prior to the 10.9.3 update. (Not sure how his drive was connected - direct to the Mac or to a USB Hub or a Cinema Display's USB port.)
Regardless, just wanted to note I had no problem playing Audio CDs using an Apple USB Superdrive connected to a late 2012 Mini with OS X 10.9.3. (In case it's a factor, the mac mini has no third-party addons/plugins, etc. installed since sometimes they have compatibility problems with later OS updates.) I tested with both iTunes 11.2.2 (released 5/28/2014) and using the Quicktime Player. (I rarely use iTunes but just wanted to confirm this wasn't a common issue.)

And in case you missed it, there were other problems with OS X 10.9.3 (especially with multiple displays) and iTunes 11.2 released the same day also caused some problems (hidden /Users folder, write permissions for everyone on /Users) that were fixed quickly with iTunes 11.2.1. Other bugs fixes listed in iTunes 11.2.2. (Hopefully 3rd time is the charm.)
