Apple MDP to Dual-Link DVI Adapter Problems (reminder on Firmware 1.03)
This may be a longshot now (not sure how many in use with pre-1.03 firmware) but I wonder if anyone using an Apple MDP to Dual-Link DVI adapter that's having problems may have one with older firmware. Apple has a previous article on Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter: Resolving flickering and wake from sleep issues that notes problems with 1.01/1.02 firmware and offered to replace them with v1.03 firmware adapters. Maybe not a factor anymore (and some may have other brands of adapters), but in case anyone missed the article previously, worth a check. (The article describes how to check the adapter firmware version.)
There's been a lot of posts on problems from multi-display users (especially 3 or more) after updating to OS X 10.9.3. (Early links in 5/15 news.) Friday's news had a post from a FCPx, 2013 Mac Pro user with 3 display setup (including 4K TV) still working after the 10.9.3 update but many were not so lucky. Some had to revert back to 10.9.2. (Several filed a bug report with Apple.) FYI: An affected user said he was told by Apple support that they hope to have a fix within a week, but others were not given any promise or timeframe for any update or fix.
